This is becoming a hot topic. Additions to the Sanctions Lists are being made almost daily and action to enforce compliance is growing. In June 2022 we went from a 'best endeavours' to comply to 'strict liability' for breach. At the SRA COLP & COFA a representative from HM Treasury gave a talk. Lawyers are in the front line. As well as complying with the UK Sanctions regime, firms must also be aware that if they breach those of the EU or USA they may also find themselves in difficulty - for example they might find that financial institutions will not want to touch them.
With all this going on we have developed a training package to bring law firms (& others) up to speed and assist them with avoiding the pitfalls. It seems this will be needed.
The training is designed to last 1 hour - so it will fit well into a lunch break. It will normally be delivered remotely for a charge of £200 + VAT (+ £50+VAT for prep for each training session). It will count towards CPD (at least for those regulated by the SRA).
